I know it's only just January, but who doesn't love the upcoming Singles Awareness Day?! I mean what could be better than 50% off CHOCOLATE?! All joking aside, Valentine's Day can be fun, whether you have a significant other to spend it with, or just use it as an excuse to overindulge on chocolate, wine, and tearjerkers.
I won't lie, my Mom is usually one of the only people in my life to get something from me on Valentine's Day and spoiler: this card is going to her this year (love you, Mom!). If you're at all interested in how to make this, it's featured as this month's bonus tutorial for my Blog Hop with Fun n' Crafty Stampers, so feel free to check it out here =) Happy way too far in advance Valentine's Day!
Man, 2016, huh? What a year! It took so much from so many of us, not Betty White though...Thanks, guy that started the Kickstarter so 2016 couldn't take her from us! Seriously though, so many people in my life (including myself) had a pretty damn rough go last year. It was a struggle to get into the holidays, even though it meant starting anew at the end there. So, I figured what the hell, let's send this shit year off with a bang and let it know we won't miss it!
I made a pop up card proverbially hitting 2016 in the ass with a door (plus, I used 2 of my favorite colors!). It feels so good to be able to look forward to a better year, or so I hope!
This card has the instructions with everything you would need to replicate it in the Premium Tutorial Pack PDF offered by Fun n' Crafty Stampers here for only $15. There are a few additional ways to get it, so take a look and see what sounds the best for you =) In the meantime, I am pretty proud of how it came out, as well as the way the pictu...
I know that December normally brings about Christmas and holiday cards, but I wanted to switch it up with a fun Pop of Pink shaker card, because I'm sure your feeds have all been flooded with seasons greetings ;).
When Stampin' Up! came out with the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper, I couldn't help but to buy more packs than I would ever know what to do with lol. If you don't have any (or are running low) they now have the paper packs on sale for $9.10 (down from $13.00) on Stampin' Up!. I also have a plethora of sequins that I never quite know what to do with, so I'm trying to get into the habit of making more shaker cards...besides, who doesn't love getting one? They're so much fun!
I have the instructions on how to make this card in my December Blog Hop I participated in with the Fun and Crafty Stampers group!
If you're anything like I am, you're always looking for easy and cheap ways to relieve stress. According to the American Art Therapy Association, art therapy (activities like coloring, etc.) is a mental health profession in which the process of making and creating artwork is used to "explore feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior and addictions, develop social skills, improve reality orientation, reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem."
Seriously, what better way to show someone you care about them than by such a simple, yet thoughtful mini gift like these cards they can color in? I love giving these as stocking stuffers, it takes just a couple of moments to stamp the image on card stock and you can throw in the new SU watercolor pencils or markers. You can add your personalized message inside for the recipient and let them color some of their stress away =)
I do recommend using Staz - On ink, so that it doesn't muddy up the lines when...
I know it's fairly premature, but it's been quite sometime since I looked forward to the holidays, so I decided to take full advantage of my Christmas mood in November =)
Ever since Stampin Up came out with the Foxy Friends stamp set and punch, I've been in love with the little fox, so I of course had to get Cozy Critters too when it came out! I won't lie, I had a lot of fun making this piece, even if the background did take me a couple of days of working on it to get it to close to perfect in my eyes.
I used very vanilla cardstock and embossed it with the Woodland Textures embossing folder after sponging Soft Sky, Night of Navy, and Blackberry Bliss onto the folder (after taping the tree knots so they wouldn't transfer those colors as well). Once I ran it through my Big Shot, I ran over the ink with an Aqua Painter just to make the transition of color more blended.
Once that was all dry, I used Chocolate Chip ink on a blender pen on the tree knots so they wouldn't all be the same color....
I don't know about you, but Halloween is by far my favorite holiday. There's a nice chill to the air, the colors of Fall are taking over the trees and you get an excuse to eat candy and dress up...what is there not to like?!
For this piece, I used some understated damask paper and crumpled it up and then Mod Podged it to a frame. I used the SU stamp sets Toil and Trouble and Toxic treats, as well as the stamp set from the Paper Pumpkin Boo-Tiful Bags & Halloween Project Kit. Since the paper was slick from the Mod Podge, I used Staz On for the frame, and for the inside, I used Tangelo Twist and some cobweb washi tape, as well as some rust colored gems.
